Today I will be talking about someone very important in my life. She is my friend, my confidant, and my company during 2am feedings. Her name is Missy and she is a standard poodle.
Now Missy is the best dog, however she is not without her quirks. She fears automatic doors and unfamiliar animals, among other things.
This is Missy riding in the stroller because she was terrified to walk on a leash.
She also has been known to have stomach issues in very expensive and in very inconvenient places. My father can vouch for this, but I digress.
Anyway, Missy has a “great” personality, but there is one thing that she is lacking: STYLE. Since I have become a dog owner, I have learned that I should never, under any circumstances, become a dog groomer. Every time I get the clippers in my hand, I have such an unwarranted confidence in myself, and each time the results are disastrous.
This is around the time Missy was given the nickname “Wile E. Coyote”. Bless her heart.
Pictures do not do the following haircut justice. I attempted to trim her face, and I only got one snip down the middle of her nose before my clippers died… permanently died.
I have yet to master the art of a top knot.
Finally, I have given up on keeping her long and furry. She now sports a much shorter do, and I think she is looking better. I guess I better keep practicing. Or should I?
